When I visited Secrets Tulum, I immediately understood why it’s become one of the most talked-about new adults-only escapes in the Riviera Maya. Even though it’s not directly on the beach, this property makes a bold and beautiful impression the moment you arrive. The design is modern and earthy, blending soft neutral tones and textures in that signature Tulum style, all while being surrounded by lush tropical vegetation.

This is a destination that feels peaceful and intentional. You won’t find a party scene here — and that’s what makes it special. Secrets Tulum has mastered the art of quiet sophistication. Every detail seems to invite relaxation, reflection, and connection. Whether you’re lounging by one of the pools or simply listening to the sounds of the jungle, it’s the kind of place where time slows down in the best possible way.

First Impressions & Atmosphere

The layout of the property is unique, with circular buildings tucked within dense greenery, giving the impression that you’ve stumbled into a hidden retreat. Despite being a newer build, it feels instantly rooted in nature. Modern architecture harmonizing with the jungle that surrounds it. It is really a stunning property.

I loved how calm it felt. The air was still, the energy peaceful. This is not a place for crowds or nightlife seekers; it’s a sanctuary for couples and honeymooners who want to unwind and reconnect in a luxurious yet low-key setting. If your looking for a unique location for a destination wedding, I don’t think this property would disappoint.

Rooms Designed for Couples

The suites at Secrets Tulum are absolutely stunning. They have an open, airy fee. Contemporary with warm lighting and natural finishes. The space feels romantic with subtle bohemian elements. It’s clear the design was created with couples in mind.

There are room categories with 1 king bed or double beds. The rooms have an open-concept design, so consider that if you are rooming with a friend. Each suite felt inviting and tranquil, and the swim-up options and rooftop plunge pools were particularly impressive.

Dining & Cocktails

One of the things that stood out most to me was the dining experience and I wasn’t alone in that! During my visit, one couple told me that Olio was their absolute favorite restaurant. They said it was an amazing experience from start to finish, and the cocktails there were phenomenal.

There’s something about the way Secrets Tulum combines culinary creativity with ambience. Each restaurant offers its own style, from elegant to casual. Whether you’re enjoying a relaxed lunch or a romantic dinner under the soft glow of lantern light, the atmosphere enhances every meal.

Pools & Service

With nine pools throughout the property, you’re never far from a quiet spot to unwind. The Preferred Club pool caught my attention immediately. It’s beautifully designed with an intimate, peaceful feel. But honestly, all of the pools were lovely. The architecture incorporates cenote-inspired shapes, creating organic curves and natural spaces surrounded by greenery.

What really impressed me was the attentive poolside service. The staff were warm, proactive, and genuinely focused on making sure guests had what they needed. Secrets Tulum continues that consistent standard of service that the brand is known for: friendly, efficient, and always professional without feeling stuffy.

The Beach Club Experience

Since the main property is set back from the ocean, Secrets Tulum offers a complimentary shuttle to its private Beach Club, just about a 15-minute ride away. The drive itself was a pleasant surprise. It was nice to have a chance to see small shops, and bits of local life along the way.

The Zamna Beach Club is stunning. White sand, soft waves, and that same relaxed, chic atmosphere that defines the main property. It offers lounge chairs, a small pool, food and drink service, and a preferred section for elevated comfort. There’s even a DJ spinning chill house music that complements the laid-back vibe.

For guests who crave true oceanfront luxury, there’s Casa Zamna, a beachfront villa with its own private pool just steps from the sand. It also has an exclusive restaurant reserved only for those staying at the Beach Club. And if you’re looking for something extraordinary, Villa Zamna takes it even further. A five-bedroom private beach house complete with a personal chef, butler, two rooftop plunge pools, and full access to Casa Zamna’s amenities. It’s the ultimate upgrade for a group or couple seeking complete seclusion and pampering.

Why I Recommend Secrets Tulum for Couples

I think what I loved most about Secrets Tulum is that it dares to be different. It doesn’t try to compete with the beachfront all-inclusives nearby. Instead, it offers something distinct: a tranquil jungle escape infused with thoughtful design, elevated dining, and the exceptional service Secrets is known for.

This property is perfect for couples who value style, calm, and connection over crowds or parties. It’s ideal for a honeymoon, anniversary trip, or simply a relaxing getaway where you can slow down and focus on each other.

Birthday Celebration Trip!

Celebrate a Special Occasion with a Trip.

Celebrating a birthday is the perfect reason to travel and we did just that. We celebrated my husband’s birthday in destination and we weren’t alone. Some friends joined us, and we had an amazing time! Destination, Secrets Playa Mujeres. Whether you’re hitting the exciting 21 or celebrating the big 5-0, the variety of options for a birthday celebration trip are endless. It all comes down to what the “Birthday” person wants to do. In our case, Mike likes golf, beaches, relaxing, good food and sightseeing. Secrets Playa Mujeres had exactly what we needed.

Celebrating a Birthday

Going away from home for a birthday celebration trip, you may ask yourself, how do I make it special. Well, I am here to tell you, the coordinators at the resorts are there to help you with all the details! The staff at Secrets Playa Mujeres made this an absolutely amazing trip and I thank them! From the moment we arrived, the personal touches they did screamed Happy Birthday.

We planned the birthday celebration in the Wine Cellar. The Portofino restaurant has a private area called the Wine Cellar! I gave the chef free range for the menu, which was absolutely amazing, and the sommelier paired the wines perfectly with the dinner! All the dinners we experienced at this resort were fantastic. Guests at Secrets Playa Mujeres may also enjoy the dining at Dreams Playa Mujeres next door.

Celebration Trip Activities

Celebration trips can be planned and customized to reflect what the person, couple or family wants to focus on. I arranged the birthday celebration with the help of Aleksandra Flores the Chief Concierge at the resort. She helped me with a LOT of planning. We spoke/emailed multiple times to set up special events.

Spa

No birthday celebration trip would be complete without a day, or two, at the spa. Andrea Scherrer, the Spa Supervisor, helped us set up what we needed prior to arrival. This spa is fantastic! So relaxing! Don’t leave this resort without experiencing it. Schedule something early in your trip. If you are like us, you will schedule a second day there.

Excursion

Thanks to the help of the Amstar excursion desk, we all enjoyed a day trip to Isla Mujeres. We had a great time wandering around this adorable little island. The boat ride/snorkel on the way over was pretty great too.

Golf

Golf was a focus on this birthday celebration trip. We had tee times set up for the week, thanks to Aleksandra. According to Mike & Chad, this course was awesome. They even enjoyed their encounters with the local critters, although, they might have lost a couple balls to one of them. No need to poke the bear, or the croc, right?

Wellness and travel, in my opinion, goes hand in hand. A number of studies have shown that taking a vacation can have physical and psychological health benefits. It lowers stress, lessens the risk of heart disease, enhances productivity at work upon return, improves motivation and brain health, I could go on & on. A wellness vacation is not one size fits all. Your wellness journey is personal and unique to you. If you are ready for a wellness vacation, the priority is finding out what you need to focus on and build a vacation around that. There are a lot of reasons to visit Florida. Temperatures in the winter can range between 76 and 83 degrees. Not bad, right? Beautiful scenery, with over 800 miles of beaches. If you consider yourself a foodie, you won’t be disappointed. If you are an active person, the activities are endless.

Florida also offers a domestic location. That may sound appealing to you. Can you picture yourself there? Lounging on a beach. An umbrella drink in hand. The relaxing hypnotic sound of the surf calls to you. Relax and let go.

Beaches

Florida is home to over 800 miles of beaches in all shapes and sizes. It’s easy to lose yourself on the sandy shores. But with so many options, how do you know which is the right beach for you? Florida Beach Finder is a great place to start. Florida beaches are some of the best in the world.

Cuisine

The cuisine in Florida is one of the most diverse and unique in the world. The rich exchange of multicultural cuisines began when Ponce de León first staked a claim for Spain in 1513. Miami is known as a gateway to the Caribbean. It has the Everglades to its west and Biscayne Bay to its east. It is also known as the cruise capital of the world. Beaches, nightlife, cuisine and museums.

The Keys

The Keys are perhaps the only place in the world where you can drive miles out into the ocean. Each island is connected by a causeway or bridge. There are activities and interests for all ages. From fishing charters & snorkeling to galleries and museums. If you find yourself in the Keys, tour Ernest Hemingway’s House.

Florida’s Health Protocols
